Synology Launches New DiskStation Manager Software

Synology has just announced the beta release of its DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.2 software. The software is used in a large majority of its products to efficiently manage the settings of the hardware, as well as to configure various connectivity options, and more.
DSM 4.2 is said to bring storage efficiency to a virtualized environment; elevate productivity; offer an enterprise-ready Cloud Station with the support for Amazon Glacier; increase the reliability via security updates; deliver enhanced multimedia streaming; and provide a better mobile experience.
Among the highlights is the revamped Cloud Station system whereby system admins can add as many user accounts as needed, all with complete synchronization to the cloud, and storage space of up to 10GB.
Multimedia streaming capabilities has also been enhanced in the DS Video app. The said app is now available on the Android and Windows Phone platforms, with multi-channel streaming and recording as well as AirPlay support.
